Jagame Thandhiram Ending Explained
Towards the ending of Jagame Thandhiram, Peter learns that Suruli was spotted with Deepan and the old Sivadoss gang. He goes to confront Suruli and threatens him at gunpoint. He then forces him to head for Birmingham and assassinate Minister Andrews. Andrews is a left-wing politician who is against immigrant extradition and is helping them. Suruli learns from Vicky about Peter’s grand plan. He explains how he wants to use Suruli, an immigrant, to kill the minister helping immigrants. This will result in the public sentiments regarding the immigrants becoming sour. It will also result in the support for BICORE, the parliamentary bill for restricting immigration. Since Peter owns jails that house immigrants, this will be of great benefit for him. Realizing his plan, Suruli goes to Peter and refuses to go with it and kill minister Andrews.
Peter calls Suruli for the last time and understands that his decision is final. He then sends his men to Suruli’s restaurant. They destroy the restaurant by open firing it. Unfortunately, Murugesan was working in the kitchen late that night. He gets caught in the fire and dies. Peter calls Suruli to tell him that his men had to kill Murugesan, whose wounds were already fatal. Giving out his final warning, his men then fire at Suruli’s home. Although no one dies this time, Suruli agrees to comply with his plan. He tells Peter to go to Birmingham and carry out his plan after he has tended to Murugesan’s final rites. However, Peter orders for the rites to take place on the same night, which they do. Under the supervision of Peter’s men, Suruli tinkers about and makes homemade explosives. Meanwhile, Sivadoss’s old gang also preps up and gathers weapons.
The Climactic Showdown And Peter’s Fate
While Peter’s gang is transporting Suruli to the destination, Sivadoss’s gang lays traps on their way. The sabotage works, and the gang kill John. Thereafter, more hang members come, and they together head off to Peter’s house. Peter, meanwhile, gets a call from the pro-BICORE minister he is working with. The minister informs him of the cancellation of the rally due to a security breach. Peter calls up John to know what has transpired. However, it is Suruli who picks up the phone and tells him that he’s on his way to his house. The ending of Jagame Thandhiram sees Suruli and the gang’s onslaught raining down on Peter’s house. Despite there being a significant difference in numbers, Suruli and the gang overwhelm Peter’s men and get inside his house.
The climactic battle sees a chaotic sequence full of gunfire and explosions. Suruli eventually penetrates through Peter’s men and gets inside his house. Meanwhile, Peter waits for them, sitting inside his office with a machine gun. However, when it counts, his gun doesn’t fire. Suruli then throws an explosive that he made in his house at Peter. The explosive bursts out, spilling chili powder all over Peter’s face. After the climactic showdown, Peter’s accomplice minister is arrested. The BICORE bill is scrapped, and there are public demonstrations against the use of private prisons to hold undocumented immigrants. Jagame Thandhiram ends with Suruli’s gang kidnapping Peter and dropping him in war-torn territory. Suruli reveals to Peter that he destroyed all documents that could prove his UK citizenship, making him an undocumented immigrant. The ending also makes way for a potential sequel.
